Tommasi Viticoltori Amarone Della Valpolicella 2006

From the Tommasi winery in North East Italy with a grape variety of Rondinella, Molinara, and Corvina. To the nose there are scents of raisins, dried fruit, plum, black cherry, black currant, jam, chocolate, leather, stew and Moroccan food. It is a top quality rich wine with sweetened red berry fruit supported by brandied accents and some cedar. Note the high alcohol content of 15%!!! To be paired with heavy food, such as Moroccan Lamb Tangine, red meat roasts, game and ripe cheeses. It is a young wine, ready to drink but should develop further.

Price: Approximately €40 a bottle.
