Giacomo Ascheri Podere di Sorano Barolo 2004

The Barolo Sorano is a red wine from the Ascheri vineyard in Piedmont, North Italy and thought of as one of the greatest Italian wines.  The Giacomo Ascheri Podere di Sorano Barolo 2004 is a typical Barolo and its ideal tasting time starts over the next 5 years until 2030. It has a scent of roses, tar, tea and leather and tobacco, tar and leather on the finish. It is a remarkably classy, austere wine, with exceptional richness and tipicity. It suits food like grilled red meats, meat on the spit, game or white and red meats with white and dark sauces. For a young Barolo this is already wonderfully smooth. The oak influence is minimal to allow that quality fruit to show through. A very fine Barolo that will enchant fans of the genre.
